Forbidden City is a beautiful historic monument that is a do not miss while in Beijing. The architecture is stunning as are the vibrant colors. To understand the why was built like this you need to put aside your "modern" thinking way and try to dive in to the oriental ante EU thinking way. If you will look with EU or US eyes you will only see nice forficate old construction. Try to be a "local" and you will feel the deep meaning of this place.

It consists mainly of three groups of buildings: Pavilion of Prayer for Birth, Imperial Vault of Heaven, Round Altar. The complex is located in a huge 273 hectares.
