Tour Itinerary
In the early morning, our driver will pick-up from your hotel in Shanghai and transfer to the airport, take flight to Beijing. On your arrival, our guide will pick you up.
Visit Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City. Tiananmen Square is a central cross road in Beijing at the gate of Forbidden City. Before visiting the Forbidden City, we popped across the road to Tiananmen Square. It is a big square with buildings around it and a big monument. When we visited in spring, there were lots of beautiful flowers and very colorful.
Forbidden City is a beautiful historic monument that is a do not miss while in Beijing. The architecture is stunning as are the vibrant colors. To understand the why was built like this you need to put aside your "modern" thinking way and try to dive in to the oriental ante EU thinking way. If you will look with EU or US eyes you will only see nice forficate old construction. Try to be a "local" and you will feel the deep meaning of this place.
Today, we will visit the Chinese traditional medicine culture about 40 minutes.
Last, transfer you back to your hotel in Beijing.
Pick you up from your hotel. Then visit Ming tombs. The Ming tombs attraction is a collection of mausoleums built by the emperors of the Ming dynasty of China. There are Thirteen Tombs of the Ming Dynasty. The siting of the tombs was carefully chosen according to Feng Shui (geomancy) principles. In addition, you will visit the Jade Shop about 40 minutes.
Visit Mutianyu Great Wall. Surrounded by the mountains, the Greening rate of the Great Wall reaches 98%, and its scenery is beautiful. Known for its gorgeous scenery, Mutianyu is one of the essences in the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty. Mutianyu has the characteristics of the fresh air, sided embrasure, peculiar guards, intensive watchtowers, the strong feeling of three-dimensional and the existing of the inside and outside branch. You can choose to take the cable car up and down. It's optional.
On the back way, visit Bird Nest and Water Cube. The Olympic Park becomes landmark of Beijing after Olympic Games 2008. The Bird's Nest and Aquatic Park are architectural wonders. There are many little souvenir shops and sundry stores. Tourists want to get some photos especially when the stadium is lit up.
Last, transfer you back to your hotel.
Pick you up from your hotel. First visit Temple of Heaven. This temple complex is one of the symbols of the Chinese capital. It consists mainly of three groups of buildings: Pavilion of Prayer for Birth, Imperial Vault of Heaven, Round Altar. The complex is located in a huge 273 hectares. The building was built during the Ming dynasty. The main architectural premise is to cast shapes symbolizing the sky (wheel) and earth (square). The entire complex was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1998.
After lunch, visit the Summer Palace. It is located a bit further way from the known central areas of Beijing, but it is definitely worth the visit for its nice landscapes and distinct landmarks that have been built in the surrounding gardens.
Today, we will visit the Pearl Shop about 40 minutes.
Last, transfer you back to your hotel.
Pick you up from your hotel in Beijing. Visit the Beijing Old Hutong. Hutong means a lane or alley, in fact the passage formed by lines of Siheyuan (a compound with houses around a courtyard) where old Beijing residents live.
Continue to visit the Lama Temple. This is one of the finest examples of a functioning Buddhist temple you will find in China. You will see many monks and worshippers burning incense to Buddha and get to walk in and through a number of buildings that the Emperor actually lived in during the 1750's AD. There are many different Buddhist statutes but the most impressive of all is a 50 foot tall wooden Buddha carved from a single sandalwood tree trunk. Worth a look.
Today, we will visit the Tea Shop about 40 minutes.
After one day tour, take the flight to Shanghai. On your arrival at Shanghai, you will take taxi to the hotel on your own.
