Tour Itinerary
Upon your flight arrival at Shanghai airport or train station, our guide will hold a sticker with your name waiting for you at the exit.
Pick you up from your hotel in Shanghai. Visit Lingyin Temple. It is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in China. The park is also breathtaking. Past the perfectly manicured tea groves of a picturesque country lane is the home of Hangzhou's amazing ancient Feilai Feng scenic area and Lingyin Buddhist Temple. Countless perfectly detailed reliefs, statues, and Buddha statues are carved everywhere into the mountainside amongst tall beautiful trees, caves, pathways, and a quiet stream.
Then visit Six Harmonies Pagoda, first built in 970 AD, is one of the three most famous ancient towers in Hangzhou. From the top of Six Harmonies Pagoda, you can get a view of Qiantang River and the magnificent Qiantangjiang Bridge. Going up the pagoda, each level has wall carvings and paint works on the culture and history.
Continue to visit West Lake. There is just so much history and legends surrounding the West Lake of Hangzhou. Of all the legends, the most touching one is the love story between Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian. Exploring the entire place would probably take up a whole day or 2 half days as it is just that big. It has been critically acclaimed by scholars, artists and even emperors throughout history.
After tour, transfer you back to your hotel in Shanghai.
Pick you up from your hotel in Shanghai. Then visit Yu Garden. This is a traditional Chinese garden and one of the best instances of the art of gardening in this country. It's situated in Huangpu District, very close to the Old City God Temple. There are many opportunities to pick up souvenirs at Yuyuan Market.
Next stop is Jade Buddha Temple. Located in the northwest corner of the city, this temple was built in 1882 and enshrines two jade Buddhas brought from Burma to Shanghai. The original temple was burnt down and was replaced by this new temple in 1918. It was built in the Song Dynasty style with curved eaves and figurines on the roof. There were many monks on the ground. It was closed for about 30 years and reopened in 1980. It has three main halls connected by a central courtyard. The peaceful and extraordinary atmosphere adds richness to our busy modern society.
Continue to visit Oriental Pearl TV Tower. The Oriental Pearl combines urban sightseeing, fashion dining, shopping and entertainment, historical exhibitions, Pujiang excursion, and exhibition performances into one. It has become one of Shanghai's landmark buildings and popular tourist attractions, and has been included in Shanghai's top ten new landscapes. It is also a must-visit spot in Shanghai.
Then take a walk at Nanjing Road. This is a long road with many shops. It may be the main shopping road in Shanghai. You have Nanjing West Road. To visit the Bund, you need to stand out from Nanjing East Road. We found it more pleasant to walk here at night.
Transfer you to the airport after tour finished in the late afternoon.
