There is just so much history and legends surrounding the West Lake of Hangzhou. Of all the legends, the most touching one is the love story between Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian. Exploring the entire place would probably take up a whole day or 2 half days as it is just that big. A suggestion as a 'route' would be to follow with the ten sights of west lake that has been critically acclaimed by scholars, artists and even emperors throughout history. We will have a chance to visit Leifeng Pagoda. It is the oldest colorful bronze pagoda in China.

Then go to Six Harmonies Pagoda. It is one of the three most famous ancient towers in Hangzhou. From the top of Six Harmonies Pagoda, you can get a view of Qiantang River and the magnificient Qiantangjiang Bridge. Going up the pagoda, each level has wall carvings and paint works on the culture and history.

Next will head to Lingyin Temple, which is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in China. It is beautiful, and the park is also breathtaking.Past the perfectly manicured tea groves of a picturesque country lane is the home of Hangzhou's amazing ancient Feilai Feng scenic area and Lingyin Buddhist Temple. Countless perfectly detailed reliefs, statues, and buddhas are carved eveywhere into the mountainside amongst tall beautiful trees, caves, pathways, and a quiet stream.

Dragon Well Tea is one of the most famous tea varieties in China, whose history in Hangzhou can be traced back around 1,200 years. At Meijiawu, you can not only feast your eyes on lush tea plants, with the aroma of tea lingering in the air, but also taste the authentic and fresh Dragon Well Tea.

After the tour, transfer you back to your hotel.

We will pick you up from your hotel. Today we have a chance to experience Southern Song Dynasty Culture. Hangzhou served as the capital city of Southern Song dynasty for 138 years, it was the center in politics, economy at that time. We will bring you to enjoy the concise and elegant porcelain, taste the authentic song style snacks and feel the cultural atmosphere.

Firstly, we will go to Hangzhou Southern Song Guan kiln Museum, which is located at the southern part of Mt. Yuhuang. It is the first porcelain theme museum built on the original place, with a deep historical cultural connotation.

Then move to He Fang Culture Street and Song Style Snacks Banquet. We will visit the historical street area – He Fang Street, it was the center of culture and economy in Southern Song Danasty. We will bring you into the pavilion to visit the beautiful landscape of ancient Hangzhou, and climb to the top to view the beauty of lake and mountains.

You will have a unique lunch-snacks banquet, including a cup of flower tea, lotus powder, Hangzhou cat’s ear noodle, crisp cakes and some other local snacks, while enjoying a traditional Chinese music instrumental performance during your snacks banquet.

Pick up from your hotel and drive to the Canal Square. The famous Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is the longest and earliest man-made canal in the world, together with the Great Wall; they are the two greatest man made engineering in ancient China.

We will come to the canal square, taking the canal cruise, visiting those characteristic museums, coming to the workmanship and demonstrations pavilion to learn the Chinese handcraft, walking around the Dadoulu ancient street.

The Grand Canal Museum is located at the Gongchen Bridge area in north part of the city. The construction of the museum stands like a fan. It covers an area of 10700 squares meters. The museum is divided into five sections with the topic “Canals in the world and the Grand Canal in China” in the lobby. Here you can know the history, the formation, the digging and changes of the Canal

After the Grand Canal museum, we will bring you to another museum, the workmanship and demonstrations pavilion. Here you have a change to use your imagination to draw a picture on an umbrella.

We will enjoy the canal view by taking a boat, walk around DaDouLu historic district and visit an ancient temple built in northern song dynasty—Xiang Ji Temple.

After that, we will escort you to Hangzhou railway station and see you off.
